My second nude, Cecilia.
A true labor of love.
I struggled with my perfectionist tendencies during this painting and realized I was way too uptight.
And that I needed to use larger globs of paint on this canvas – which was the largest canvas size I had ever used.
I wanted her to be perfect (whatever that meant).
Thus, I spent a few months on her constantly finding small mistakes to redo.
Finally, I decided enough time had passed, I wanted to paint something new, and she would have to do.
Every time I see her now, I can feel the power and freedom of her pose.
Cecilia wanted to tell a story of empowerment – of her body, her mind and her soul.
