Description
Back in 2002, I was in high school and had just finished my first oil painting.
My life changed because I knew I had stumbled on one part of my genius.
I was elated. I was in love with painting!
And I was terrified to pursue it because it was against everything I had been taught growing up – you have to work hard to make money, you have to work 9-5, life is hard, artists live in poverty, blah blah blah.
I applied to art schools anyways and got accepted to many.
Still finding my way at 18, I listened to everyone else tell me art can’t pay my bills and went to a ‘normal’ university for a ‘normal’ career path.
I didn’t pick up my paintbrush for nearly 15 years once I went to college.
This is the first painting I ever painted entitled “The Irish Famine”.
The funny thing is, I had no idea that this painting would be a clue to my life, my path and my soulmate…
