Description
Once I started painting again in 2017 after almost 15 years of not picking up a brush, I decided to challenge myself by painting flowers with a palette knife.
I had never experimented with a palette knife and had never painted flowers before. I had only painted old men.
It was hard to let loose and have no control using a palette knife (versus the control of a paintbrush).
I had to remind myself repeatedly to use more paint and not be afraid of the outcome.
After all, it was my first flower painting. How bad could it be?
Once I let go, I created this flower painting that I love.
I trusted the process, knew my painting gift was improving and did not judge myself too harshly for my inexperience.
Much like in life and our daily choices, when we trust the process, take action and have faith, we can achieve anything we put our heart and mind to.
